Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Open and Distance Education Held a Seminar on Sino-Sweden Cooperation Project

In the afternoon of September 28, a seminar based upon critical analysis of online learning was held at SOU for the project—STINT Grant IB2014-5911: A Study of Indicators of Online Learning Behaviors in China and Sweden. This STINT project is applied collaboratively by Stockholm University and Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Open and Distance Education. Related researchers from Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai International Studies University, and Suzhou University of Science and Technology attended the seminar. The seminar was hosted by Dr. Xiao Jun from the Center of Engineering of SOU.

Preben Hansen, an associate professor of Stockholm University, and Shuting Gao, a lecturer of Stockholm University, made a speech respectively. During the seminar, researchers had in-depth discussions into the quality and standard of online education, the design of the index of online learning behavior, and related research methodologies of learning analysis.

Sweden researchers also offered sufficient affirmation to the research function of the Digital Laboratory for Open Education of SOU, and expressed hopes on further cooperation with the Center of Engineering.
