After receiving oversea visiting scholars from Brazil and Africa last year, nine oversea visiting scholars from South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Brazil and the Netherlands have carried out a two-week research and study from May 26th to June 6th this year.
During the two weeks of research and studies, the visiting scholars have not only participated in meetings with related academic departments, administrative departments, as well as staff from branch schools and information technology center, so as to have a deep understanding of the education concept and specialty of Shanghai Open University, but also participated in 2014 International Conference on Ubiquitous Learning. In addition, the visiting scholars have also made presentations on the practice, experience and development trends of distance education in their own countries through panel discussions and symposia.
