n October 28th, 2021, the 14th German-Chinese Applied Higher Education Symposium online was co-held by Hefei University and Hochschule Osnabrück University Of Applied Sciences. JIA Wei, president of Shanghai Open University, made a keynote speech, named “Educational Openness and Cooperation in the Digital Era：The Development of the Chinese-German Online Open Learning Platform”, introducing the context, development status, features and futures thinking of the CG-OOC. JIA Wei also warmly welcomed universities and enterprises attending the Symposium to actively participate in the construction of the CG-OOC, jointly promote the cultivation of international and applicable talents in China and Germany and deepen the cooperation in higher education online.
The theme of the Symposium this year is “Future-oriented Sino-German Cooperation -Dual System Higher Education”. Professor Christian Wulff, former President of Germany, attended and presided over the opening ceremony. WAN Gang, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. There are more than 200 participants from 69 Chinese and German universities. Since 2008, the Symposium has been held alternately in China and Germany every year.
