1. Program Overview

Immersion Hub, short term international student program of Shanghai Open University (SOU), is a two-week program that takes you to experience Chinese culture, master the basic Chinese language, appreciate the characteristics of the city of Shanghai, and learn about China's fashion and design industry, and is a great option for you to experience a short-term study abroad. 2024 Immersion Hub is jointly organised by Institute of International Exchange of SOU, The Shanghai Bridge and Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC).

2. Schedule and Application Period

(1) Duration of 2024 Immersion Hub: 24 June – 5 July, 2024 (2 weeks)

(2) Language of the program: English and Chinese

(3) Application deadline: 15 April, 2024

(4) Location of the program: Shanghai Open University

(5) Our curriculum consists of 3 modules of learning:

* Survival Chinese (for Beginner level)

* Chinese culture

* Eastern Fashion Insight Workshop

3. Eligibility and Application Method

(1) The program is open to all non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport, aged 18 and above, and is mainly for students from SOU overseas Chinese learning centers, overseas partner institutions.

4. Admission Criteria

SOU will admit 30 international students based on the following principles:

(1) No more than 5 students from the same institution.

(2) Applicants from countries of “One Belt and One Road” Initiative.

(3) Regional and gender balance.
