On 26 March, Mr. Christoph Stueckelberger, founder and President, and Mr. Fadi Daou, Executive Director of Globethics, visited Shanghai Open University (SOU). Mr. Jia Wei, President, and Ms. Zhang Jin, Vice President of the SOU, welcomed the delegation. Relevant staff from the President’s Office, Information and Technology Department and Institute of International Exchange of the SOU attended the meeting.

President Jia and Vice President Zhang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on the ethical issues in education brought about by digital and emerging technologies (artificial intelligence) and had in-depth discussions on co-operation in the areas of co-developed and shared courses, e-libraries and publications. Globethics, as the organiser of the 2024 International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) Leadership Summit, invited the SOU to participate in the conference and share Shanghai's experience.
