During 15-17 October, at the 37th Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in Islamabad, Pakistan, a paper co-authored by Professor Sun Chuanyuan from College of Humanities of our university and Dr. Chulani Herath, Director of the Quality Assurance Center of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL), titled Pathways to Impowering the Quality of Open Online Courses towards Deep Learning—— Taking OUSL as an Example”, won the “Best Paper Award” Gold Medal. The conference's paper exchange was conducted through online presentations and discussions, and selected one gold medal, two silver medals, and three best papers.
Previously, Professor Sun Chuanyuan was the visiting scholar of OUSL. During his visit, he conducted in-depth research with Dr. Chulani Herath and other visiting scholars on the current status of open online courses at OUSL and the perceptions of teachers and students on the quality of teaching and learning. They actively sought feasible paths to enhance the quality of international open online courses. By participating in the visiting scholar program, faculties of SOU have further broadened their horizons and strengthened international academic exchanges with other open universities in Asia.
